Mark Thibideau (aka Sedative aka Crave) is a crack electronic musician, best known for his techno and house music but who also delves into the ambient realms, minimal techno and dub.

Mark and his twin brother Matt (also a crack electronic musician - who joined us for The Drone Cycle in November 2000) have an amazing collection of vintage and modern synths and samplers and are skilled programmers. For this show, Mark brought out a Prophet 5 synthesizer with a Boss BF1 flanger and a Yamaha analog delay.

I first met Mark and Matt when they each worked at one of the two major music stores in Toronto. They were always a delight to discuss synths and electronic music with. In 1998 we got to see/hear them in action when they played a set following dreamSTATE in the chill-out room at a Toronto rave. Mark and Matt later played THE AMBiENT PiNG many times: solo, together and with their trio Repair. They are also popular performers in Berlin and beyond.

Mark and Matt are also two of the ringleaders of the Obsolete Components record label and that's a good place to start discovering Mark's music.
